It is our great pleasure to welcome you totheICR 2014 (28th International Congress of Radiology); which willbeheld in Dubai from 9-12, September, 2014, as a resultofcooperation between the Egyptian Society of Radiology andNuclearMedicine (ESRNM) with the International Society of Radiology(ISR).The meeting has all the elements to be a greatinternationalsuccess. The story started 5 years ago when theEgyptian Society ofRadiology and Nuclear Medicine approached theInternational Societyof Radiology to get their approval for theircongress to beco-organized by the Egyptian Society. The joinedmeeting wasapproved and the two societies finally chose “Dubai(United ArabEmirates)” to be the location for the conjoined effortto cometrue.A diverse variety of excellent sessions and up-to-datelectureshave been incorporated in the scientific program, includingthe ISRcategorical courses; All over the course, highlyqualifiedexperienced professors have been chosen by the ISR boardto covermain subspecialties of radiology, teaching the differentaspects ofdaily practice for general radiologists.Scientific sessions will include keynote lectures andresearchpapers submitted from all-around the world to show recentadvancesin our field.Diverse lectures under basic radiology, case basedpresentations,and hands on workshops, in addition to advanced andhot topicssessions, are included to cover the most importantsubjects in allsubspecialties of Radiology; from basics to themost advancedtopics.Some presentations are organized in a clinical cases basewithprovocative atmosphere while others will present in a clear waythenew international diagnostic and therapeutic guides, Hotandadvanced topic sessions will cover new technical development,someof them still under research, with interestingclinicalapplications in the future.Two film interpretation sessions, including senior andjuniordivisions, will be presented with various problematic buteducativeas well as easier but confusing cases to guide radiologistfor abetter problem solving ability to serve patients.Plenary as well as special focus sessions will be presentedbyhonorary international eminent radiologists giving highlightfocuson advanced applications in addition to lectures honoringAntoineBéclère and Walther Fuchs.We started this year a new hopefully successful traditionbyadding a new session of “ISR meets clinicians” to open the doorforinteraction and multidisciplinary approach of diagnosis andtherapywith a strong cooperation with other specialties.We are transferring our knowledge and experience to ouryoungresidences and fellows as well as technologists byaddressinglectures and teaching sessions dedicated to them. We hopewe canpave their way to carry on their professional carrier toevolutes anew radiology era putting radiology and medical imagingin theforefront of the medical practice.Being under the patronage of the International SocietyofRadiology, different radiological societies are contributingfromall over the world, including societies fromdifferentsub-specializations, coordinated by the Egyptian SocietyofRadiology to cover specific scientific subspecialty programofinterest to our colleagues. Speakers from all-around theworldeither individuals representing their universities andhealthinstitutions or through societies are enriching our programbystrong lectures and presentations. We wish to thank them verymuchfor their enthusiastic contribution to the congress.Industry has been always involved in the developmentoftechnology, which was always the driving force for ourspecialtyprogress. Vendors from different companies have shared bydifferentways their innovations and developments to our conferenceand wewelcome them all. The Marine Engineering Department at CollegeofEngineering & Technology atArab Academy for Science,Technology& Maritime Transport is intended to organize aconferenceentitled, “International Marine and offshore EngineeringConferenceand Exhibition” (IMOC 2014).IMOC 2014 is an international conference and exhibition, inMarine& Offshore Engineering, organized by the Arab AcademyforScience, Technology and Maritime Transport (League of ArabStates),in cooperation with Ministry of Transport – Saudi Arabiaand SaudiPorts Authority.
